Navigating Global Shifts, Local Realities, and Collective Action
Even before the recent sea change in American politics, the global rules-based institutional order—grounded in multilateralism and international law—was already under threat from:
Economic instability and stalled development
Destabilizing technology
The accelerating climate crisis
Rising geopolitical competition
Surging populist nationalism
As institutions struggle to respond, women are stepping up to build community and create change beyond traditional frameworks—focusing on needs, not division.

• Lauren Parnell Marino- an international development specialist,on what motivates women entrepreneurs here and in Africa and how they make decisions about running small-medium sized businesses
• Dena Eakles- founder of Echo Valley Farm in southwestern Wisconsin,on advancing sustainable living and peace in the face of today's environmental crisis

1) Identify shared priorities for women in Madison and Dane County
2) Select one strategic, tangible action hat offers a clear, forward path

We encourage our UNA members write to their Congressional representatives urging full support for the UN FPA in the 2023 budget which is now being drafted in Washington D.C. The FPA is a UN agency aimed at improving reproductive and maternal health worldwide. |
